How It Works: Anthracite Coal Mining Blueprints
Sunday, May 27th at 2pm
To help celebrate the 250th Anniversary of Anthracite, NMIH is diving into the archives to show how Anthracite coal was mined, hauled, and processed a century ago. Join us as for the first ever public showing of items from the Eric T. Bella collection housed at NMIH. Visitors will see blueprints of long gone mining machines, mine cars, and even a cross section of a coal breaker. The tour will meet at the Museum then carpool to a climate controlled warehouse where we will put on cotton archival gloves and explore the collection.
Admission for this special “How It Works” tours is $5 in addition to regular museum admission.
